Dato’ Dr. Gopala Krishnan A/L Mariappan

Dato’ Dr. Gopala Krishnan A/L Mariappan is a distinguished leader in the logistics and shipping industry, currently serving as the Executive Chairman and CEO of Atlantic Container Lines Sdn. Bhd. Born on March 29, 1957, in Klang, Malaysia, Dr. Gopala Krishnan has built a remarkable career spanning several decades. He began his professional journey in 1978 with Pernas Sime Darby Shipping Sdn. Bhd. as an Executive and progressed through various leadership roles, including Manager at Malaysia Shipping Agencies Sdn. Bhd. and Senior Manager/General Manager at Mitsui OSK Lines (M) Sdn. Bhd. His extensive experience is further demonstrated by his contributions as Secretary General of the Federation Malaysian Shipping Agencies Association from 2001 to 2010 and as President of the Central Region Shipping Association from 2001 to 2007. Dr. Gopala Krishnan earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Pacific Southern University in 2005. His expertise in logistics has been recognized by prestigious institutions, leading to his Fellowship with the Society of Logisticians Malaysia in 2011. In 2024, he was honoured with an Honorary Doctorate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Wilmington Metropolitan University. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia, Inter Connex World (ICX), and Global Logistics (GLOB). Dr. Gopala Krishnan’s leadership extends beyond his company, as he currently serves as the President of the Logistics and Container Owners Association, a position he has held since 2023.
