Dato’ Captain Hj. Abdul Rahim bin Abd. Aziz was born in Jasin Melaka on 24 December 1954. He showed an early fascination with the maritime industry as he enrolled in Extra First Class Pre Sea Studies at Pakistan Marine Academy in Karachi Pakistan. Later, in 1978, he qualified as Second Officer at Bahadur Shastri, Nautical College, Bombay, India and First Officer in 1980 at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne and before being qualified as Master in 1983 at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Afterwards, Dato’ Captain Hj. Abdul Rahim bin Abd. Aziz took Post Graduate Diploma in Port and Shipping Management at International Maritime Transport Academy Holland in 1988 and MBA at Ohio University in 1998 before entering Public Sector Pre-Official Posts Course in 1999.
Currently being Director Projects and Senior Marine Consultant at Kasi Maritime,Kota Kinabalu,Sabah, Dato’ Captain Hj. Abdul Rahim bin Abd. Aziz was previously the CEO of , Pengerang Marine Operations at Dialog Group,Pengerang,Johor and Special Maritime Advisor,Ministry of Transport,Malaysia. While being responsible for aforementioned positions, he had a crucial role in safeguarding maritime interests, enhancing security measures, and promoting safe and efficient maritime operations through strategic planning, expertise, and collaboration. In addition, he also managed the agencies day-to-day operations to ensure their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.These roles also further allowed him to contribute to the society by building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders such as government agencies, industry partners, and community groups
Throughout his professional journey, career, Dato’ Captain Hj. Abdul Rahim bin Abd. Aziz received accolades such as Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (D.S.P.N) in 2006, Pingat Khidmat from Angkatan Tentera Malaysia in 2002, Darjah Dato’ Paduka Tuanku Jaafar (D.P.T.J) in 1999, Ahli Mahkota Perak in 1996 and Pingat Keberanian Terbilang. His incredible achievements have underscored his commitment in the maritime industry and emphasized his passion of shaping the Malaysia market to international standard.
