Mr. Mike Wood is qualified in both Civil and Mechanical Engineering. He holds Post Graduate qualifications in Logistics and Business Administration and is a qualified RABQSA/Exemplar auditor. 

The initial phase of Mr. Mike Wood’s career involved working with public roads and transportation authorities in technical and management roles. He contributed to VicRoads and the Victorian Ministry of Transport, where he played a key role in designing Melbourne’s public transport system, integrating trams, trains, and buses. He also worked with the Metropolitan Transit Authority. 

After his time in public service, Mr. Mike Wood transitioned into private industry. Over several years, he held General Manager positions with major logistics service providers, managing turnovers of more than $500 million. His roles included General Manager positions with companies such as Mayne Nickless, Finemores, and K&S Logistics. 

Mr. Mike Wood has been a director of transport and logistics industry associations in both Queensland and Victoria. He is currently the founder and Managing Director at LATUS Logistics Risk. His expertise extends to multiple facets of the supply chain, having undertaken projects such as NHVR/NHVAS Certifications (Mass, Maintenance, Fatigue), compliance systems design and auditing, integrated logistic chain design, Australian disaster management response logistics, port operation and infrastructure, operational cost modelling, port operational modelling, forestry operation design, and livestock movements. 

As Mr. Mike Wood’s expertise and knowledge grew, he moved into consulting and became the Principal Consultant with Dawson Consulting, one of the largest supply chain and logistics consulting companies in Australia. He is now Managing Director of LATUS, a highly regarded logistics business improvement practice. LATUS operates in several areas including compliance implementation and management, chain of responsibility, workplace health and safety, environmental management, essential safety measures, industry sector standard (ISS) development, safety system accreditation, risk analysis and safety management, fleet and equipment design and specifications, alternative fuel and electric vehicles, and alternative equipment.
