Anwer Yusoff is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of wide-ranging experience in the Malaysian information and communication technology sector. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida, and has undertaken postgraduate studies in artificial intelligence in aircraft design at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Anwer served as the Head of the Cyber Security Industry Engagement & Collaboration Department at CyberSecurity Malaysia from 2008 to 2024 where he demonstrated a steadfast commitment to advancing collaborative initiatives and fostering strategic partnerships across various industries.
Anwar played a pivotal role in proposing the establishment of a cybersecurity innovation hub, the certification of ICT products, and the enhancement of capability and capacity development during his tenure in CyberSecurity Malaysia. He has been actively involved with PEMANDU’s Strategic Reform Initiatives, advocating for the Cyber Security Safety Standards Act and the Risk Management Framework. He has been integral in the development of the ‘Rangka Kerja Keselamatan Siber untuk Sektor Awam’ (Public Sector Cybersecurity Framework) in collaboration with key governmental bodies such as MAMPU, CGSO, MIMOS, and Majlis Keselamatan Negara.
In addition to his strategic involvement in national cybersecurity frameworks; Anwer has also contributed to the development of the Data Leakage Protection paper for Majlis Keselamatan Negara and served as a committee member of the Thematic Kluster Digital Ekonomi working group, chaired by YBM KKMM. His role as Project Director for MAMPU’s OSSiD Data Leakage Prevention project further underscores his leadership in this vital field. In his current position as Director of Digital Security and Industry Engagement at ORP2b Tech; Anwer leads strategic initiatives to enhance digital security frameworks and drive industry collaborations. In this role, he is responsible for shaping and implementing robust cybersecurity strategies, fostering partnerships across industries, and guiding the company in navigating the evolving digital landscape.
